About The Role

Join our fast-paced startup as a Founder Associate, where you'll work closely with the founder and have a significant impact on all aspects of the business. You'll engage in strategy, project management, team development, internal operations, and gap filling. This role offers the opportunity to experiment with AI and work at the cutting edge of developer infrastructure. Benefits include health insurance, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, and paid time off.

  • Strategic thinking: demonstrate the ability to think in both the micro and macro levels, and how to effectively plan and execute to reach long-horizon goals
  • Project management: know how to manage projects, create plans, and execute against them while keeping everything organized
  • Research, learning and consumption of information: you’re able to pickup up new topics quickly and be able to execute in new domains in short amounts of time
  • Scientific: you need to know how to construct good experiments, read data, and draw conclusions
  • Automations: used tools to create automations around common workflows
  • Work in ambiguity: startups operate in high ambiguity environments. You need to be able to successfully plan and execute with missing information and constantly adapt as new information presents itself
  • Competent with computers: you don’t need to be an engineer, but you can’t be a luddite. You need to be a proficient user of computers
  • AI forward: have used Claude Code or Codex successfully for real use-cases. Understand (high-level) some of the technical aspects including context window, tool-calling, subagents, and more. Excited and curious about leveraging these tools to increase our leverage
  • Wants to win: driven, competitive, and focused on winning
  • Thorough: follows tasks through to completion and pays close attention to detail, ensuring nothing is overlooked and the quality is high
  • High energy: knows there’s a lot to be done, and has the energy to push it forward
  • Not lazy: willing to do the work, automating when needed, but not outsourcing thinking. LLMs are a powerful tool, but they shouldn’t replace thinking or be used for things they are not suitable for
  • Smart: raw intelligence and quick thinker
  • Values aligned: aligned with our values
  • High agency: figures out what needs to be done and does it. Finds solutions to problems, and realizes we control our own destiny
  • Resourceful: scrappy as a default, but also spends when needed
  • We like candidates with varied backgrounds - don't be shy, apply!
  • Hackers/OSS devs welcome, even without extensive work history
  • All roles are full-time - no students or part-time
