About The Role
Join Wizard as a Business Development Manager, Merchant Partnerships. In this role, you will identify, engage, negotiate, and close high-value brand and retailer partnerships to expand Wizard's shopping network and create new revenue opportunities. You will develop our merchant acquisition strategy, manage a high-velocity pipeline, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Merchant Success, and Merchant Operations. Success will be measured by the number of priority merchants signed, successful onboarding of qualified merchants, and consistent merchant acquisition results. - Identifying, engaging, negotiating, and closing high-value brand and retailer partnerships to expand Wizard's shopping network.
- Developing and continuously improving Wizard’s merchant acquisition process, including Tier-1 vs. Tier-2 playbooks, qualification criteria, outreach templates, and pipeline reporting.
- Building and managing a high-velocity pipeline of qualified SMB and mid-market merchants, ensuring consistent onboarding and successful launch on the Wizard platform.
- Experience with one or more of: product feeds/catalog integrations, affiliate programs, checkout/payment rails, marketplaces
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity; can build process while hitting a number
- Thrives in an early-stage startup environment where building process, wearing multiple hats, and adapting quickly are essential to success
- Experience negotiating commercial partnerships and coordinating cross-functional onboarding with Product, Operations, and Legal teams
- Experience in eCommerce, retail technology, marketplaces, affiliate ecosystems, commerce platforms, or merchant-facing SaaS. Existing merchant relationships are valuable, but a demonstrated ability to build new relationships through proactive outreach is equally important
- 5–8+ years in business development / partnerships, ideally selling into retailers/brands or commerce platforms
- Experience managing multiple partnership opportunities simultaneously, balancing outbound prospecting, relationship management, and cross-functional execution
