As an Acoustic Researcher, you will model underwater sound propagation, classify acoustic signatures, and design sensor geometries. You will work closely with AI Engineers and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on European sovereignty and maritime security.

• Modéliser la propagation du son sous-marin dans des environnements océaniques réalistes pour générer des données synthétiques.
• Caractériser et classifier les signatures acoustiques des cibles de surface et sous-marines, et construire la compréhension de référence.
• Concevoir et raisonner sur les géométries de capteurs et d'arrays pour maximiser l'information extraite.

**What we look for**

• Deep grounding in underwater acoustics, sonar, or a closely related field (ocean acoustics, radar/array processing, acoustic signal processing). PhD or equivalent research experience.
• Strong command of statistical signal processing: detection & estimation theory, array processing, time-frequency analysis.
• Fluent in Python (NumPy/SciPy) for modeling, simulation and analysis; comfortable working with large datasets.
• A builder's instinct, you want your work deployed at sea, not left in a paper. Bias toward validating ideas against real data.
• Bonus: prior experience using machine learning on acoustic signals, naval / defense domain experience.
