Geospatial Software Engineer (Backend)

As a Geospatial Software Engineer (Backend), you will design, test, and build the backend software that delivers unique geospatial insights. You will work closely with the Data Science team to optimize and integrate their code for production. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience with Python or a similar language, professional software engineering experience, and a strong understanding of Object Oriented and Functional Programming paradigms.

• Design, test, and build the backend software that delivers Chloris Geospatial’s unique insights.
• Work closely with data scientists to optimize and integrate their code in order to bring it to production.
• Utilize Open Source Geospatial tools and AWS services to enhance the functionality and performance of the software.
• 4+ years of experience with Python or similar language
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Independent and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Understanding of Object Oriented and Functional Programming paradigms
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Open Source Geospatial tools such as GDAL, Geopandas, Rasterio, Xarray, etc
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB
• Is a motivated software engineer with an eye for details and looking to join a team of experienced and innovative individuals
