Principal Character Artist - F/M/NB

Join our team as a Principal Character Artist, where you will define quality standards, drive craft excellence, and guide character art direction execution. You will work closely with Art Direction, Lead Character Artist, Tech Art, Rigging, Animation, and Production. Your core responsibilities will include quality and benchmark ownership, craft leadership and problem solving, and pipeline influence and innovation. This is a remote position available to candidates in Europe.

• Définir, documenter et maintenir le niveau de qualité visuel et technique pour tous les personnages, en veillant à l'alignement avec la vision du directeur artistique.
• Agir en tant qu'expert pour les défis complexes liés à l'art des personnages, en établissant les meilleures pratiques au sein de l'équipe.
• Collaborer avec l'art technique et les responsables pour faire évoluer les flux de travail, les outils et les pipelines d'externalisation.

• Mandatory
• Proven experience as a **Senior or Lead Character Artist** on at least one shipped AAA title
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating **AAA-quality characters** (real-time ready)
• Expert-level proficiency in: **ZBrush, Maya or Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, Marvelous Designer**
• Deep understanding of **human anatomy, proportions, and character design (realistic)**
• Strong knowledge of **real-time character pipelines** (topology, UVs, baking, PBR texturing)
• Proficiency in **real-time hair creation workflows**, including **hair card creation, texturing, and optimization**
• Experience working with **game engines (Unreal Engine)**
• Ability to give **clear, actionable, high-level artistic feedback**
• Nice to have
• Understanding of **rigging and deformation requirements**
• Previous experience in a **Principal role or studio-wide craft leadership position**
• Experience working with **outsourcing partners and reviewing external assets**
• Exposure to **scan data / photogrammetry workflows**
