Software Engineer (Storage)

Join Crusoe's Cloud Storage team as a Software Engineer I. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to develop their skills in distributed systems and storage engineering. • Foundational Technical Skills: Some hands-on experience (through internships, school projects, or ~1 year of professional work) with building or operating software systems; exposure to cloud infrastructure or distributed systems is a plus but not required
• Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java or Go. Basic understanding of Linux fundamentals and computer architecture concepts (willingness to deepen this knowledge on the job)
• Growth Mindset: Strong desire to learn storage systems and distributed computing concepts, with a track record of picking up new technical skills quickly (coursework, personal projects, or prior roles)
• Communication & Collaboration: Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset; comfortable asking questions and working closely with more senior engineers
• Software Engineering Fundamentals: Familiarity with core software engineering practices — coding standards, code reviews, source control (e.g., Git), testing, and basic CI/CD or build processes. Eagerness to learn and adopt team best practices
• Coursework, personal projects, or internship experience involving storage technologies (e.g., NVMe, SSDs) or distributed systems
• Exposure to storage protocols such as NFS, SMB, iSCSI, or NVMe-oF
• Any contributions to open source projects (school-related or personal)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (physical or software-defined)
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
