Senior Accountant

Join our dynamic finance team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, ensure accurate financial records, and contribute to strategic financial processes. You will oversee the preparation of financial statements, maintain accurate financial records, lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, and support tax filing in the US and Canada. • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and provide financial guidance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian and US accounting standards and tax regulations
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or tech environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to issue resolution
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively as part of a team
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across departments
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Experience working in a Startup environment
• Strong understanding of SaaS business models and revenue recognition
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and financial modeling
• Located in the GTA and be in the office a minimum of TWO days a week
