Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Join Whatnot, the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe. As a Software Engineer in the Infrastructure Reliability Engineering team, you will design and build distributed systems that ensure reliability and resiliency at scale. You will work with Python, Elixir, and Go, and collaborate closely with product, platform, and infrastructure teams. This is a highly visible role that provides foundational systems and frameworks for rapid scaling while maintaining stability and trustworthiness for users.

• Designing and building distributed systems that support reliability, resiliency, and safe operation at scale.
• Building and evolving load testing frameworks that validate system behavior under sustained, burst, and peak event traffic patterns.
• Participating in incident response and driving systemic fixes that reduce repeated failure patterns.
