About The Role

Join Zenobē, a leading energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure company, as a Senior Legal Counsel. In this role, you will support and lead on specified legal matters, including power tolling contracts and M&A related issues. You will provide commercially focused legal advice, manage external legal counsel, and mentor junior team members. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a growing organization and legal team.

  • Leading the legal team’s input on power tolling contracts and M&A related matters, and confidently advising the business on legal and commercial risks associated with corporate development activities.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex tolling agreements, sale and purchase agreements, and other transaction-related documents, while managing external legal counsel.
  • Mentoring and leading more junior members of the team, delivering training to internal teams, and managing one or more members of the legal team as a direct report.
  • Senior Legal Counsel with expertise in complex energy transactions, tolling agreements, M&A and corporate development
  • Skilled in negotiation, risk management and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent legal drafting skills
  • An understanding of the energy regulatory environment and experience in the energy sector would be a strong advantage
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to multi-task, meet deadlines and juggle competing demands
  • Sound commercial judgment with an ability to prioritise effectively
  • Experienced contract negotiator with commercial awareness
  • Able to thrive in a very fast-paced environment with large amounts of responsibility and ownership
  • At least 10 years PQE having trained and qualified at a good regional, national or international law firm
  • Attention to detail and able to produce work of consistently high quality
  • Able to establish rapport and build strong trust-based relationships
  • A strong team player able to work on own initiative
  • Strong Generalist transaction lawyer with experience in power tolling/offtake arrangements, M&A and project finance experience
  • Ideally someone who possesses inhouse experience
