Qualitative UX Researcher (Contract)

Join Suno, a fast-paced company focused on revolutionizing the music industry through AI technology. As a Qualitative UX Researcher, you will be responsible for understanding user behavior and engagement with Suno's mobile apps. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to integrate user insights into product decisions. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for full-time conversion.

• Lead end-to-end qualitative research, including interviews, usability tests, and diary studies, primarily for mobile apps.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to scope research, identify learning goals, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Advocate for the user across all touchpoints, from onboarding to creator tools to content discovery, and help establish and evolve research best practices.
• A proactive, flexible mindset — comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, very tight timelines, and a fast pace of output
• A track record of research that drove product decisions — you can point to specific features, pivots, or roadmap shifts your work shaped
• Comfortable working with quantitative data alongside your qual findings
• BA or equivalent experience in HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field
• Deep expertise in qualitative research design, execution, and synthesis
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach — you build genuine thought partnerships with PMs and designers
• 3+ years of industry experience in UX research, with a strong focus on qualitative methods in fast-paced, embedded product environments
• Bonus points if you’ve used Suno to make music
• Proficiency with AI and generative technologies in product experiences
• Experience in mobile consumer apps related to audio, social, and music in general
• Experience in being the single researcher at a startup (even though we have a UX team, we function with high ownership like being the single researcher in a startup)
