Staff Applied Scientist

Join our Applied Science team as a Staff Applied Scientist, where you will build the algorithmic systems that power Garner. You will turn ambiguous, real-world problems into systems that deliver measurable impact, own these systems end-to-end, and work closely with engineering to deploy scalable and resilient systems. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact search problems in healthcare and directly influence healthcare outcomes.

• 6+ years of industry experience as an Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, or equivalent; or 3+ years of industry experience with a relevant advanced degree (PhDs preferred)
• Sound technical judgment in choosing between statistical models, heuristics, optimization approaches, and simpler algorithmic methods depending on the problem
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex algorithmic ideas for business and technical stakeholders
• A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience identifying meaningful success metrics and delivering solutions that drive measurable improvements
• Demonstrated ability to move quickly from concept to execution, building prototypes to and running experiments to validate ideas and accelerate learning
