Staff Software Engineer (Backend, Infrastructure)

Join our team as a Staff Software Engineer (Backend, Infrastructure) and lead the development, deployment, and management of our web services and infrastructure. You will collaborate with colleagues in technology, product management, and beyond, contributing to innovative solutions that serve the needs of end-user professionals and enterprise clients across various verticals. You will utilize your hands-on experience in developing technology using Python, demonstrate your expertise in building robust business logic with web frameworks such as Django, and leverage your proficiency in Nginx, Kafka, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, and big data platforms to architect scalable solutions.

• Lead the development, deployment, and management of web services and infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Utilize hands-on experience in Python and web frameworks like Django to drive impactful projects, ensuring the integration with databases and other technologies.
• Architect scalable solutions leveraging proficiency in Nginx, Kafka, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, and big data platforms, while writing reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• VHas 10+ years of experience in developing and architecting large-scale web services, preferably with exposure to supporting AI systems
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of database internals like transactions and indexes, with experience in database schema design
• Is eager to take ownership and drive impact, owning projects from conception to implementation
• Has hands-on experience working on AWS
• Holds a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
• Brings substantial production server experience or equivalent expertise
• Possesses expertise in databases, distributed systems, and backend performance measurement and optimization
• Strong communication skills, genuine curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail
• Has expert proficiency in Python or other programming languages such as Go, Java, or C++
• Has deep experience with web frameworks like Django and is familiar with MySQL, Redis, Elastic Search, Kafka, and Cassandra
• Familiarity with operating systems, particularly Linux
• A good understanding of HTTP and networking principles
