About The Role

Join the Woodland Trust, the UK's largest woodland conservation charity, as an Operations Officer - Wildlife. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various teams to reduce adverse herbivore impacts and improve the ecological condition of our woodlands. You will provide expert advice, oversee wildlife management, support regional and national operations, contribute to policy and advocacy, deliver wildlife surveys, manage contracts and equipment, and build partnerships for landscape-scale wildlife management. This is a home-based role with regular travel within the Northern landscape.

  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to operational teams, ensuring delivery of evidence-led wildlife management interventions.
  • Oversee safe, ethical, and legally compliant wildlife management across the estate, always protecting organizational reputation.
  • Support regional and national operations with wildlife management activities, communications, and stakeholder engagement, maintaining sensitivity to public opinion.
