Associate IT Specialist (Contract to Hire)

About The Role
Join Harbinger Motors as an Associate IT Specialist. In this role, you will provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and software. You will respond to service requests and incidents, prepare and deploy computers, maintain an inventory of IT assets, and stay up-to-date on the latest IT trends and technologies. This is a contract-to-hire position with comprehensive health coverage, an annual vacation stipend, early-stage stock options, flexible PTO, and paid lunches and dinners.
- Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and software, and respond to service requests and incidents.
- Prepare and deploy freshly provisioned computers, and maintain an inventory of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, and accessories.
- Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and software components, including operating systems, drivers, and applications.

- The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong eagerness to learn and grow
- Familiarity with desktop hardware components, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in a desktop support or helpdesk role
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and common desktop applications such as Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Eager to learn and proactively take on new challenges
- Experience supporting employees in an office environment
- Experience with ITIL or other IT service management methodologies
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are a plus
