Technical Accounting Manager (SEC Reporting)

Join Harbinger, a fast-growing startup, as a Technical Accounting Manager (SEC Reporting). In this role, you will lead our public company readiness efforts, support the preparation for a potential IPO, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements. You will work closely with executive leadership, external auditors, and legal counsel to build scalable SEC reporting processes and strengthen internal controls. • Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and Form S-1, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
• Build scalable SEC reporting processes, calendars, and controls, and support the company's preparation for a potential IPO and public company reporting requirements.
• Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and technical accounting advisors, supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits, and assisting with complex accounting areas and disclosure matters.
• Big Four public accounting experience strongly preferred
• 5–8+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
• Experience with SEC reporting and public company filings
• Experience preparing or reviewing 10-K and 10-Q filings
• Experience with S-1 preparation
• Experience supporting or participating in an IPO process
• Experience with financial reporting systems
• Experience working with high-growth companies or public company readiness
• Ownership mentality and ability to build processes from scratch
• Strong cross-functional communication with legal, finance, and executive leadership
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, startup environment
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and transparency
• Ability to translate complex accounting topics into clear disclosures
