Senior Software Engineer (Platform)

Join Thumbtack as a Senior Software Engineer (Platform) and play a key role in building backend services and APIs that connect business applications with our product and platform services. You will bring AI-enabled workflow prototypes into production, create reusable integration patterns, and partner with business and engineering teams to turn high-value problems into durable backend capabilities. • Comfort learning new domains quickly, including internal systems, third-party business applications, and AI-enabled workflows, with the judgment to know when automation needs human review
• Technical judgment for integrations where reliability, security, data correctness, and audibility matter
• Ability to turn ambiguous operational workflows into clear technical designs that can be delivered incrementally
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering, business, and operational partners, especially when technical constraints and business needs need to be reconciled
