About The Role

Join Form Energy, a company focused on delivering qualified battery anode and cathode designs for utility-scale multi-day energy storage systems. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will own the design of components and assemblies from concept to production, with a strong emphasis on design for manufacturing and assembly. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, troubleshoot design problems, and work closely with the manufacturing team to implement feedback into designs.

  • Conception, design, and production of components and assemblies for battery cell design.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define requirements and verification plans.
  • Leading the design of a full electrode assembly or complex sub-assembly integral to the battery cell electrodes.
  • Experience with plating technologies is a plus
  • Proficient with prototyping techniques and working in a machine shop environment
  • Proficient in component design for mass manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), especially formed / stamped sheet metal and injection molded plastic components
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), specifically SolidWorks modeling and drafting
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's with 5+ years, or Master's with 3+ industry experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with the design and verification of mechanical systems using FEA is a plus
  • Experience working with batteries, energy storage, fuel cells, or electrolyzers is a plus
