About The Role

Join Somerce, a TikTok Shop specialist agency, as a Financial Controller. In this high-ownership role, you will be responsible for the integrity of the numbers, month-end close, multi-currency accounting, financial controls framework, and more. You will report directly to the CFO and have the opportunity for direct leadership exposure and growth.   • Own the month-end close process, delivering accurate management accounts and commentary to deadline.
  • Design and operate the financial controls framework as the business scales, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment runs, billing accuracy, and credit control against collection targets.
  • 3–6 years' experience, including time in a commercial/industry finance role post-practice
  • Big 4 background is a must
  • Strong technical accounting and a controls-led mindset, with proven ownership of month-end close and statutory reporting
  • Experience with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar)
  • Confident communicator who can explain finance clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Fluent with Claude and similar AI tools — you reach for them to speed up analysis, drafting and process automation
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Confident with Excel and Google Workspace (G-Suite) — Sheets, Docs, Drive
  • Hands-on, pragmatic and happy to own your workload in a fast-paced, low-bureaucracy environment
  • Experience in a digital agency, professional services, ecommerce, DTC or high-growth scale-up
  • Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial records
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks or similar)
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally in a fast-paced or agency environment
  • Strong communication skills - able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Exposure to multi-currency accounting
  • Experience working in a digital agency, ecommerce or startup environment
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
