About The Role

Join Robinhood's Trade PMR team as a Staff Software Engineer. In this high-visibility role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable software services, architect backend solutions, and mentor junior engineers. You will have a broad impact on critical integration projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of professional software development experience, deep expertise in domain modeling and microservices architecture, and experience in the RIA or Wealth Management industry.

  • Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable software services for the Trade PMR platform using .NET and AWS.
  • Drive the technical roadmap for major initiatives, including integrating deeply with Robinhood services and building the infrastructure to support Dual Custody.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers across the TradePMR organization.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven capability to partner closely with Product, Security and Compliance partners to translate highly complex legal or regulatory constraints into clean, maintainable backend infrastructure
  • Deep expertise in domain modeling, microservices architecture, and building highly reliable APIs capable of orchestrating complex cross-functional data flows across multiple engineering domains
  • Experience serving as a primary technical point of contact across an entire organization, with a strong commitment to raising the engineering bar by sponsoring and mentoring senior engineers
  • Demonstrable execution in a zero-to-one product space, navigating high levels of technical ambiguity, setting foundational engineering patterns, and systematically de-risking complex technical blockers
  • Advanced mastery-level proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed infrastructure and secure data pipelines using .NET
  • Experience in the RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) or Wealth Management industry
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or React
  • Experience scaling B2B platforms, working on post-acquisition integrations, or building Dual Custody infrastructure
