About The Role

Join NEXT as the Engineering Team Lead for Developer Experience. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of Backend and DevOps engineers, drive technical excellence, and shape the foundation of a brand-new DevEx team. You will collaborate with a parallel DevEx team in Israel, execute strategies for an Agentic SDLC, and deliver intuitive self-service tools. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience as a Backend team lead, a passion for Developer Experience, and a . in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Lead a high-performing team of Backend and DevOps engineers dedicated to redefining the developer journey at NEXT.
  • Drive technical excellence, foster the professional growth of your engineers, and serve as a key leader within Platform Engineering.
  • Execute our strategy for an Agentic SDLC, leveraging AI to automate and enhance the design-to-deployment lifecycle.
  • Proven record of initiating, designing, implementing and leading meaningful projects
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Backend team lead
  • Technical understanding in Build tools (Maven/Gradle/nx), testing frameworks, and observability
  • Strategic thinking and ability to prioritize initiatives effectively
  • A self-driven leader with a deep curiosity to master and implement AI technologies within the SDLC
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and planning skills
  • Experience improving development processes and a passion for Developer Experience (DevEx)
  • . in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Backend Developer in a fast-paced cloud oriented organization
  • Technical understanding in CI/CD, K8S and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Ability to cultivate deep trust and build long-standing, meaningful relationships with stakeholders to drive cross-functional alignment
