About The Role
Join Snap Inc. as a Privacy Engineering Manager, where you'll lead a team focused on building scalable privacy solutions across product and infrastructure development. You'll work closely with various teams, including product, infrastructure, security, legal, compliance, and data, to deliver practical privacy solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership, familiarity with data governance and security automation, and experience in translating legal requirements into technical requirements.
- Lead a team to build platforms, policy systems, automation, and validation loops that make privacy scalable across product and infrastructure development.
- Utilize AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality code.
- Partner across product, infrastructure, security, legal, compliance, and data to deliver practical privacy solutions and guide decisions on data use, access, sharing, retention, and AI/ML systems.
- Strong technical leadership and systems thinking, with the ability to set strategy, drive execution, and influence across teams
- Familiarity with areas such as data governance, identity and access management, cloud infrastructure, ML/AI systems, or security automation
- Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices
- Strong judgment in reviewing complex systems and making tradeoffs across privacy, product velocity, reliability, and business impact
- Experience translating legal, policy, or governance requirements into technical requirements and durable system behavior
- Experience building or scaling platforms, workflows, or control planes in privacy, security, infrastructure, or related domains
- Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
- Solid privacy engineering fluency, including data minimization, access boundaries, retention and deletion, and privacy validation
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineers and building strong cross-functional partnerships
- 1 + year(s) of technical leadership or engineering management experience
- 8+ years of post- bachelor’s security / privacy experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad security experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4 years of post-grad security experience
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field
- Experience leading privacy platform, or privacy governance work in a consumer or large-scale technology environment
- Experience with AI-assisted workflows, policy codification, or automated decision-support systems in privacy, security, or trust and safety
- Experience building policy systems, automation, or validation frameworks that reduce manual review and improve consistency
- Familiarity with privacy challenges in ads, ML systems, or agentic AI product surfaces
- Experience partnering with legal, compliance, audit, or risk teams to operationalize requirements through engineering controls
- Experience improving engineering processes and increasing team leverage through reusable mechanisms rather than manual review alone
