About The Role

Join our team as an In-House Legal & Compliance professional. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our mortgage and secured lending products comply with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. Your responsibilities will include compliance monitoring, regulatory research, marketing/design, audits, exams, and risk assessments. You will work closely with legal, operations, licensing, and product/engineering teams. Assisting in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices for mortgage and secured lending products.
Supporting compliance monitoring, regulatory research, marketing/design, audits, exams, and risk assessments while collaborating with legal, operations, licensing, and product/engineering teams.
Conducting compliance reviews of loan origination, underwriting, and servicing processes, and performing periodic audits of required disclosures and loan documents.
Experience: 3+ years in a compliance, risk, legal, or regulatory role within a fintech, bank, or mortgage company
Located in Northern California
Knowledge: Strong familiarity with applicable lending, marketing, and servicing laws
Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, legal studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Other Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience in a fintech or other fast-paced regulatory environment
Exposure to state-specific lending laws (e.g., licensing, foreclosure, repossession rules)
Compliance certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar) are a plus
Technical Skills: Ability to work with compliance monitoring tools, regulatory databases, and task systems (ex. Asana)
