About The Role
Join our innovative R&D team as a Software Engineer, where you'll work on building the best database for data warehousing. You'll have the opportunity to work in all areas of our software stack, from hardware to operating systems and user interfaces. This role is perfect for those who love computer architecture, data structures, massively parallel algorithms, multicore programming, and performance analysis and optimization. You'll design, develop, and test data warehouse microservices, troubleshoot and fix issues, and collaborate with other teams to prioritize and guide customer support.
- Design, develop, and test data warehouse microservices, and troubleshoot and fix issues encountered in the field.
- Collaborate with other teams such as Product and Technical Support to prioritize, guide, and help customers.
- Work in areas such as query execution, performance optimization, cluster management, security, and debugging of issues.
- Internals of open source or commercial database
- A working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
- Machine Learning systems/platforms
- Hashing, sorting, searching, aggregation
- Strong knowledge of C and C++ and working knowledge of Java
- Multi-core programming and memory models
- File systems and storage APIs
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience
- Distributed algorithms
- Indexing
- Experience developing software for Linux
- Operating systems – kernels, threading, scheduling, memory management
- TCP and RDMA networking
- Fundamental computer science – as many of these as possible:
- Strong debugging skills with LLDB or GDB
- Compilers – front end, internals or back-ends
- Mastery of AI assistants such as Codex and Claude
- SQL and relational databases
- Basic understanding of networking and storage device behaviours
