About The Role

Join Step, a design-focused consumer banking product, as a Lead Product Designer (Growth). In this role, you will lead the overall product, design, and UX strategy for growth initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and design high-quality interactive experiences across mobile and web. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success.

  • Lead the overall product, design, and UX strategy for growth initiatives, including signup/onboarding, rewards, and gamification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategy and roadmap, and lead projects throughout the entire design process.
  • Evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans to reach goals, and implement improvements in design practices.
  • The ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build')
  • Significant demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design for consumer-facing products
  • Uses AI as a creative and productivity multiplier — able to move faster and explore more ideas without sacrificing craft or judgment
  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software (mobile/web)
  • A craft-obsessed designer who strives for quality and has an amazing attention to detail
  • Have led design for successful growth initiatives at scale
  • Strong fintech experience
  • Strong visual design sensibility with the range to move fluidly between systemized UI and more expressive, brand-forward moments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you should be able to clearly articulate your design decisions and the logic behind them)
  • Must have a portfolio featuring examples of design work
  • The ability to lead design for important projects with experience delegating work and giving direction to other designers
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single qualification. Strong candidates rarely check every box, and we'd rather meet you than miss you
