About The Role

Join Step, a rapidly growing fintech company, as a Senior Product Manager for Lending. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of our lending products, shaping the lending roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will leverage data-driven insights to define priorities, execute product strategies, and work closely with external lending partners. This position offers competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and mental health coverage, paid parental leave, a 401k retirement plan, and stock options.

  • Partner with leadership to refine Step's lending product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Leverage analytics, user insights, and industry trends to identify high-impact features, optimizations, and experiments.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, data science, legal, compliance, operations, finance, and external lending partners to build, launch, and scale products.
  • A proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with a bias for action — you act as an owner and move with urgency
  • Deep customer empathy and a passion for building products that deliver real value
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using BigQuery, Looker, Mixpanel, or similar analytics tools
  • A track record of scaling consumer lending products, from ideation to launch and growth
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders
  • Experience using AI tools day-to-day, with evidence of how they've made your work faster or better
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer fintech products
  • Experience working directly with underwriting, credit risk, or bank and lending partner ecosystems
  • We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single qualification. Strong candidates rarely check every box, and we'd rather meet you than miss you
  • Prior experience at an early- or growth-stage startup
  • A background in software engineering or technical product management
