Software Engineer (Backend, Capital Orchestration)

Join Affirm's Capital Orchestration team as a Software Engineer. You'll develop a robust platform for on-demand transactions, ensuring Affirm has the liquidity to originate loans and pay merchants. Your responsibilities will include building a foundational platform for transaction reconciliation, integrating data pipelines, creating user experiences, and collaborating with product managers and engineers. You'll also support the operations and availability of your team's artifacts.

• You have a total of 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Fluency in full stack web development, back end development, event processing, or batch processing
• You have mastered taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and executing on it by writing clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team
• Proficiency with agentic coding
• Your experience demonstrates that you take ownership of your growth, proactively seeking feedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript/React, Airflow, Spark, Horizon Portal, and SQL is a plus
• Someone who is proactive, organized, curious, and a self-starter
• You are comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback to other engineers through code reviews
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in designing, building, launching, and maintaining products at scale
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
