Avionics Test Integration Engineer

Join Relativity Space as an Avionics Test Integration Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, release, integration, and maintenance of Avionics Test Infrastructure. You will work closely with various engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the avionics system. This is a unique opportunity to shape the fundamental avionics architecture of the Terran R rocket and have a high degree of ownership over components that will fly.

• Ownership of the design, release, integration, and maintenance of Avionics Test Infrastructure, including ground support harnessing, test racks, and test fixtures.
• Collaboration with design engineers, test engineers, and manufacturing engineers to support designs for rapid prototyping and long-term production scaling.
• Support for the full lifecycle of Terran R’s nervous system, including designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls major electrical systems.
• Experience designing mechanical test solutions for electronic devices and equipment
• Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience designing and releasing ground equipment infrastructure such as test racks, test harnesses, and test fixtures
• Experience with CAD tools such as NX and Teamcenter
• Experience with wire harness design tools such as Zuken or Capital Harness
• Experience working with build and test technicians
• Familiarity with a PCB design modeling tool such as Altium Designer
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for data acquisition/recording and analysis
• Familiarity with common communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI, etc
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control system platforms such as NI, Beckhoff, or similar
