About The Role
Join the Propulsion Manufacturing Integrated Components team as a Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and testing of critical Aeon-R engine components. You will drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, reliability, lead time, and cost while collaborating with manufacturing partners and technicians. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and initiative, as well as hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.
- Own and develop manufacturing and test processes for 3D printed and machined Aeon-R engine components and subassemblies.
- Drive continuous improvements in manufacturability, assembly, and delivery of components, ensuring hardware meets all aspects of the intended design.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners and technicians by writing work instructions, conducting root cause analysis, resolving issues, and tracking and reducing lead time.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or a related role
- Ability to work with and train technicians in a hands-on hardware environment, writing work instructions, and process plans for complex assemblies, and drive implementation of improvement and corrective actions
- Vendor management experience including selection, defect disposition, and quality management
- Strong foundational knowledge of propulsion systems, mechanics of materials, and thermal-fluid systems to investigate and resolve hardware defects
- Experience with tooling design using Siemens NX or other CAD tools, including conceptualization, modeling, analysis, and fabrication
- Proficiency with additive/subtractive manufacturing, precision inspection, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and FEA using Ansys or similar tools
- Experience in propulsion development programs
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, welding, and high-pressure testing
- Experience writing formal process specifications and manufacturing standards
- Experience transitioning products from development to high-volume production
