About The Role

Join Relativity Space as a Senior Hardware Engineer (Mixed Signal) on the Avionics team. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing custom electronics for the Terran R launch vehicle. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the fundamental avionics architecture and have a high degree of ownership over components that will fly. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and oversee hardware development through the entire product lifecycle.

  • Design, test, and analyze custom electronics for the Terran R launch vehicle, overseeing hardware development from concept to flight maturity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of avionics systems, making informed decisions for the overall vehicle.
  • Utilize eCAD software and project management skills to ensure hardware projects are reliable and on-schedule, with a focus on design for reliability and manufacturability.
  • A strong candidate for the role will have a deep technical background in electronics design and sound project management skills to ensure the hardware project is both reliable and on-schedule to support Terran R's launch
  • Experience with eCAD software such as Altium or equivalent
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis
  • Experience working with highly cross-functional teams (mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, etc.) to develop integrated electronics solutions
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electronics designed for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics
  • Experience with board-level design from concept to manufacturing
  • Technical expertise in ADCs, DACs, signal conditioning, amplifier circuits, filter design, etc
  • Understanding of interfacing hardware such as: sensors (thermocouples, pressure transducers) and electromechanical devices (solenoids, pyrotechnics, actuators)
  • Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability of avionics hardware and systems
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and integration for avionics systems
