About The Role

As a Staff Backend Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and databases. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features, optimize applications for performance and scalability, and provide mentorship to junior engineers. - Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features and optimize applications.
- Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- The ideal candidate has extensive experience in backend technologies, and system architecture, along with a passion for solving complex problems for our users and mentoring engineers
- The individual selected for this role will have a passion for education, the ability to empathize with teachers, strong product acumen, and a commitment to Kiddom’s mission and vision
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
- Sincere interest in working at a startup and scaling with the company as we grow
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master's degree preferred
- You've been through the planning, launching and refactoring phases of code you wrote
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in working with databases (SQL & NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis
- 7+ years professional software engineering experience
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices
- Motivated and responsible individual who strives to exceed expectations
- Experience scaling integration systems
- Familiarity with Golang, Typescript
- Experience with AWS Lambda, Terraform
- Experience in Edtech industry
