Research Engineer Intern (Mapping & Localization)

Join our team as a Research Engineer Intern in Mapping & Localization. As a Summer Intern, you will contribute to the design and implementation of an automated Map Change Detection Pipeline, process incoming data from our testing fleet, and enhance the autonomy of vehicles through LiDAR algorithm development. You will also refine map generation algorithms, advance the LiDAR map interface, and merge LiDAR data with other sensory inputs. • Contribuer à la conception et à la mise en œuvre d'un pipeline automatisé de détection des changements de carte.
• Traiter les données entrantes de la flotte de tests active, les comparer aux cartes HD de base et isoler les changements structurels permanents.
• Développer et optimiser des algorithmes de localisation et de cartographie basés sur LiDAR pour améliorer l'autonomie des véhicules.
• Technical Experience: Proven project involvement in LiDAR-based localization and mapping within autonomous vehicles or robotics
• Sensor Fusion Expertise: Deep understanding of integrating various sensors like LiDAR, GPS, IMU, and camera data
• Software Proficiency: Solid experience in C++ and ROS
• Education: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline
• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical details effectively across multidisciplinary teams, concepts to non-technical team members
• Experience with deep learning techniques applied to localization and mapping is a plus
• Experience with Gaussian splatting/NeRF is a plus
