Head of Product Design

Join Amplitude, a fast-growing company transitioning from product analytics to an AI-native platform. As the Head of Product Design, you will lead a 15-person design team, manage and grow the team, set design strategy, champion craft, hold a high bar for quality, stay in production, and advocate for the customer. This is a player-coach role that requires a strong design leader with a builder mindset.

• Lead and manage a 15-person design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to elevate the quality of design work.
• Drive the design strategy for Amplitude's product suite, setting direction and ensuring coherence and quality across all product surfaces.
• Champion craft and hold a high bar for design quality, leading by example and pushing on the details to ensure exceptional design execution.
• You've managed senior, independent IC designers and earned their respect through product and craft judgment
• You've shipped products that moved real customer and business metrics, fast
• Bonus: Experience with Analytics, Experimentation, or Developer tools
• Your portfolio shows both systems-level thinking and pixel-level craft
• You've created (not inherited) structure inside of a messy, high-growth organization
• You've shipped AI-native experiences and use AI tools in your own practice today (we'll ask what you built and what you learned)
