About The Role

Join a fast-growing deep-tech startup as the Vice President of Finance. In this pivotal role, you will architect a world-class finance function, lead the financial transition from startup to scaled enterprise, and manage capital allocation. You will work closely with the leadership team, engineering, and sales to align product milestones with financial targets. This is a hands-on role for a scrappy, driven individual with a strong accounting background and a genuine interest in AI and deep tech.

  • Strategic Scaling: Lead the financial transition from an early-stage startup to a scaled enterprise, managing everything from bookings, backlog, and revenue forecasting to complex cap table management.
  • Operational Excellence: Build and oversee the entire accounting function (AP/AR, payroll, tax, audit). Ensure our books are "Big Four" ready while maintaining startup agility.
  • Capital Allocation: Manage burn, optimize runway, and partner with the CEO on future fundraising rounds and investor relations.
  • Startup Veteran: You’ve been in the trenches. You have a proven track record of scaling a company from the $10M mark through significant growth phases
  • Technically Minded: You have a genuine interest in (or experience with) AI and deep tech. You can speak the language of our engineers and understand the unit economics of AI infrastructure
  • Team-First: You are a low-ego, high-output collaborator who cares deeply about the mission and the people
  • Scrappy & Driven: You don't wait for a manual; you write it. You thrive in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments and possess a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Accounting Expert: You likely started in accounting or have a CPA. You understand the "why" behind the numbers and can build a robust compliance foundation
  • Strong proficiency in modern finance stacks (e.g., NetSuite, Rippling, Mosaic, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills—able to distill complex financial data into actionable insights for the Board and the team
  • Deep expertise in core financial metrics & KPIs and hardware/edge-related business models
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3+ years in a high-growth startup leadership role
