About The Role

Join US Mobile as a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) and take ownership of our quality engineering practice. In this technical leadership role, you will design test strategies, improve CI pipelines, mentor engineers, and ensure quality is embedded across the software development lifecycle. You will lead the test architecture and automation strategy, build and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, and drive the adoption of best-in-class testing practices. Additionally, you will actively debug flaky tests and CI failures, validate async workflows, and ensure quality in AWS-based distributed systems. You will also mentor software engineers on test design and automation, establish coding standards and review practices for test code, and influence product and engineering leaders on quality risk and release readiness.

Lead the design and implementation of test architecture and automation strategy across backend and frontend systems.
Build, maintain, and improve scalable automated test frameworks, CI pipelines, and testing practices.
Mentor and influence software engineers on test design, automation, and coding standards.
Proven ability to lead and influence
Deep expertise with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress
Strong Linux fundamentals
5+ years in Quality Engineering / Test Automation
Strong Java background (writing production-quality test code)
Experience testing microservices & distributed systemsCI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
Senior or Staff-level experience in a product-driven org
Contract testing (Pact or similar)
Performance testing experience
Observability-driven testing (logs, metrics, traces)
Cloud-native testing in AWS
Prior experience building QA orgs from messy to mature
