Software Engineer (Implant)

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the Brain Interfaces Software Team, responsible for the end-to-end software stack that manages implant communication, verification, manufacturing, and monitoring. You will have the opportunity to architect and implement elegant software solutions, develop and improve various software systems, and contribute to the mission of helping people through advanced technology.

• Architecting and implementing elegant software solutions for Neuralink's Implant and Charger SDK, as well as maintaining and improving the associated software and firmware build tooling.
• Developing and improving software for the Implant manufacturing line acceptance, design control verification testing, and monitoring systems.
• Collaborating with various divisions within the company to ensure the end-to-end software stack effectively manages implant communication, verification, manufacturing, and monitoring.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles
• Fluent in Python and C or Rust (don’t get hung up on this—being an exceptional software engineer matters above all)
• Experience (and comfortable) with the Linux/Unix systems and command line
• Strong intuition for what matters in a production system (vs. research-grade)
• Evidence of exceptional ability in engineering, mathematics, or computer science
• You feel a sense of urgency to get things done sooner rather than later—because there is so much we, as people, can contribute to the world and accomplish in this life, it’s a shame to waste time
• Prior experience developing software for safety-critical systems
• You deliver. You may enjoy thoughtful conversations about problems and perfecting design, but in the end, you know that what matters is delivering reliable solutions. (Our ultimate aim is to help people; the “right” solution doesn’t always achieve that)
• You are resourceful, flexible, and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
