Senior General Ledger Accountant

Join ThredUp, a leading online consignment and thrift store, as a Senior General Ledger Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for core GL responsibilities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will also actively identify and lead opportunities to automate manual processes and improve team efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid GL accounting foundation, an automation-first mindset, and experience with AI tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Self-starter with excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• ASU 360 Property, Plant and Equipment
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, with a particular interest in technical areas such as:
• Experience in e-commerce or retail industry is a plus
• Demonstrated curiosity and drive for continuous process improvement; ability to innovate and simplify complex workflows
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage projects effectively
• 3+ years of relevant experience, with a blend of public accounting and/or general ledger accounting required
• ASU 350-40 Internal use software
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or CPA candidacy strongly preferred
• Proficiency in accounting and business systems, particularly NetSuite and Coupa
• Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IFERROR, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows or automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar), with a drive to apply them to real accounting problems
