Director of Total Rewards
Apptronik · Austin, United States
About The Role
Join Apptronik, a pioneering robotics company, as the Director of Total Rewards. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain top talent. You will work closely with Finance, Legal, and People Partners, and report to the VP of People Operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the people function of a rapidly growing company in the tech and robotics industry.
- Ownership of compensation and benefits strategy, including job architecture, leveling frameworks, and salary structures.
- Leading compensation cycles, conducting market benchmarking, and partnering with Talent Acquisition on offer strategy.
- Overseeing the full benefits lifecycle, including broker relationships, annual renewal, plan design, and employee communication.
- CHIPC Values: You naturally embody our core values (Curiosity, Humility, Integrity, Passion, and Creativity) — how we make decisions every day
- Analytical Mindset: You build models, identify trends, and translate complex data into clear insights for Finance, Legal, and Board-level audiences
- Clear Communicator: You handle sensitive data with discretion and translate complex comp concepts into plain language for employees, managers, and executives alike
- Total Rewards Depth: 10+ years in compensation, total rewards, or a related people operations role, ideally in a high-growth or tech environment. Breadth across comp strategy, equity, and benefits matters more than any single credential
- Builder’s Instinct: You bring structure to ambiguity and take ownership through to execution — no playbook required
- CCP, CEBS, or PHR/SPHR certification is a plus, not a requirement
- Experience in a venture-backed or high-growth company strongly preferred; transferable depth from other dynamic environments welcome
- Apptronik is an equal opportunity employer. We actively work to build a team that reflects the full range of backgrounds, identities, and perspectives — and we strongly encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply, even if you don’t check every box
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years in compensation, total rewards, or a combined people operations role
