Senior Platform Engineer

Join LSEG as a Senior Platform Engineer, where you'll play a key role in transforming our real-time market data applications onto a new advanced latency-optimized container platform. This technical dev-ops engineering position involves design, build engineering, complex migration planning, and consultation to deliver business-related outcomes in an agile manner. You'll collaborate with various teams, own Kubernetes and Hybrid Cloud design, and provide consultancy to colleagues deploying their applications on the new platform.

• Ownership of Kubernetes and Hybrid Cloud design, build engineering and development activities required to deliver global cloud-native container platform related business outputs.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver all the platform infrastructure build, configuration, tooling, observability, and lifecycle management activities as code.
• Providing consultancy to LSEG colleagues who want to deploy their application on to the new platform and help them to onboard as a tenant.
• As well as a proven technical background, the ideal candidate must be able to participate effectively in multi-functional meetings, clearly articulate sophisticated technical and capabilities, translate business requirements into technical requirements, and ultimately, into outcomes that are fit for purpose and use
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
• Real-life (and not theoretical) experience and a real willingness to learn or rapidly grow their skills and capabilities
• Proven enterprise Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native network engineering experience on large production environments
• Working knowledge of Git based pipelines and coding concepts / approaches
• Recent Linux experience, particularly around Ubuntu
• Agile / CICD Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab)
• Experience with automation Tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Scripting
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment across many areas or tasks, with the ability to manage multiple activities against specific timelines
• Knowledge around Kubernetes pipeline driven deployments and automated testing
• IP routing and network service knowledge
• Experience around monitoring / troubleshooting full-stack platforms particularly Linux based systems and latency or performance optimised applications
• Test Automation (Framework Creation / Establishing a process, Infra Testing)
• Ability to present to senior management level in fluent business-level English
• Strong hands-on experience ideally including EKS Kubernetes and Cilium based CNI based skills
