About The Role

Join Mastercard as the Director of Accounting, a key role within the North America Finance team. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of US GAAP financials, coordinating monthly close with the Global Business Service Center, leading quarterly US GAAP reporting, and providing technical accounting advice. You will also support the region's SOX controls, internal control monitoring, and risk management initiatives. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to drive process improvements.

  • Coordination of monthly close with the Global Business Service Center (GBSC) and review of deliverables, including analysis of revenue.
  • Leading quarterly US GAAP reporting and disclosure requirements, providing advice for revenue and billing questions, and overseeing the revenue waiver and claims process.
  • Supporting the NA Region’s accounting and reporting in accordance with Corporate policies and US GAAP and SEC requirements, including technical accounting advice and decisions related to revenue and expenses.
  • Influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently with cross functional partners
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including senior level business and corporate partnering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Controls concepts and Sarbanes Oxley regulations
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills, with thorough knowledge of the card payments industry preferred
  • Drives continual process improvement agenda, demonstrated ability in challenging and improving processes
  • Strong revenue recognition and technical accounting experience under US GAAP
  • Active CPA or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task
  • Demonstrated effective leadership with ability to lead staff and develop business relationships across all levels
  • Proficiency with accounting & finance systems/software applications
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and strong team player
