Legal Counsel, Patent Attorney

Join Mistral, a leading AI solutions provider, as a US Patent Attorney. In this role, you will work closely with research, engineering, and product teams to identify and secure patentable inventions, shaping the future of open-source AI. You will manage global patent prosecution, develop internal IP processes, and support M&A due diligence. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting patents in complex software/AI domains, hands-on experience with LLMs or other GenAI technologies, and the ability to engage with researchers and engineers.

• Identifying and prioritizing patentable inventions by engaging with researchers, engineers, and product managers.
• Drafting invention memos and patent applications, translating complex technical ideas into clear, defensible disclosures.
• Managing global patent prosecution, including office action responses and outside counsel, to ensure high-quality filings.
