Software Engineer (APIs & Context Platform)

Join Glean, a rapidly growing startup focused on building a horizontal AI platform that enhances how employees use AI at work. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for owning and evolving Glean's REST API standards, designing and shipping new API endpoints, building the API gateway layer, and defining reusable platform primitives. You will work across multiple layers of the stack, including backend services, developer tools, SDKs, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of industry software engineering experience, proficiency in at least one modern backend language, and a deep understanding of REST API design principles.

• Concevoir et expédier de nouveaux points de terminaison API qui exposent les primitives de la plateforme de Glean.
• Construire la couche de passerelle API : routage, authentification (OAuth2, clés API, OIDC), limitation de débit, gestion des quotas.
• Définir des primitives de plateforme réutilisables sur les couches horizontales de Glean (connecteurs, sécurité/gouvernance, graphe de connaissances, mémoire, orchestration de modèles).
• 8+ years of industry software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building and shipping public-facing APIs or developer platforms in production.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (ideally Golang, or strong interest in learning it); experience with TypeScript, Python, and/or Java is a plus
• A proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and take ownership of both small tasks and large features
• Thrive in a customer‑focused, tight‑knit, cross‑functional environment – being a team player and willing to take on whatever is most impactful for the company is a must
• BA/BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Deep fluency in REST API design principles: versioning, backward compatibility, pagination, error semantics, hypermedia, and OpenAPI/JSON Schema
