Strategic Finance Associate (Product Finance)
Glean · San Francisco, United States
About The Role
Join Glean, a leading AI company, as a Strategic Finance Associate in the Product Finance team. In this role, you will provide financial insights, strategic analysis, and decision support for Glean's AI products. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams, and have a strong proficiency in spreadsheet-based financial modeling. A background in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or strategic finance is preferred.
- Act as a thought partner bringing financial insights, strategic analysis, and decision support to the economics of Glean’s AI products.
- Own inference pricing economics end to end: build and maintain the financial models that connect token economics, inference and compute costs, and margin to pricing, packaging, and tiering decisions.
- Drive billing operations end to end: operate and improve the billing systems that translate pricing into invoiced revenue, ensuring provisioning, credits, overage, and reconciliation are accurate and scalable across consumption and hosted customers.
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheet-based financial modeling, with the ability to build and maintain complex operating models from the ground up — and genuine enjoyment of the craft
- Comfort operating in systems and data, not just spreadsheets — you'll get into a billing configuration, a usage dashboard, or a SQL query to verify behavior rather than assume it
- A background in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, strategic finance, product finance, venture capital, or a comparably analytically rigorous role
- Preferred: direct experience owning pricing, packaging, or monetization strategy — setting or revising prices, designing tiering and packaging, or measuring the impact of pricing changes
- Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of a workstream and drive it independently from question to decision
- A genuine, current interest in AI — you follow the field and have a perspective on where model and compute economics are heading
- Preferred: hands-on experience with a usage-based billing platform such as Orb, Metronome, or Stripe Billing, or equivalent billing operations experience
- Preferred: experience with usage-based, API, or developer-platform pricing, or other consumption-based business models
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
- The judgment and conviction to form an opinion and defend it, paired with the openness to update it as the analysis evolves
