Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Trading API - Client-Facing Application)

Join Alpaca, a leading trading platform, as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain systems and services that empower millions of users to trade billions of dollars worth of assets. You will work closely with users and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality end-to-end solutions across the full suite of frontend and backend systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to API design and product features within our ecosystem, own the delivery of high-visibility features/projects, and mentor peers while influencing the technical strategy of the company.

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining systems and services that form the foundation of Alpaca and empower users who trade assets.
• Responsible for the user experience and product development for Trading API customers, encompassing both the frontend trading dashboards and backend systems.
• Leading the design and implementation of components that power elegant and performant frontend user experiences, while mentoring peers and influencing the technical strategy of the company.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proficient in HTML and CSS frameworks such as TailwindCSS
• Passionate about creating intuitive and performance user interfaces
• Experience with REST APIs and best practices
• Attention to detail and an appreciation for design aesthetics
• Ability to collect and translate stakeholder requirements into fully realized features
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development with Golang & TypeScript/React
• Proficient in TypeScript and React
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Proficient in at least one modern systems programming language like Golang or C#
• Experience working remotely
• Experience working at a startup
• Experience or understanding of financial markets
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with major cloud platforms (we primarily use GCP)
• Algo trading experience (either professional or personal)
