About The Role

Join Riverlane, a leading quantum computing company, as a Senior/Staff Research Software Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with researchers in mathematics, physics, and engineering to develop the simulation and analysis tools that underpin their work. You will take ownership of significant technical projects, deliver reliable and optimized software implementations of cutting-edge decoding algorithms, and maintain and evolve software repositories. This position offers equity, 28 days of annual leave, private medical insurance, life insurance, and a contributory pension scheme.

Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex ideas with a variety of audiences, in a clear and simple way
Experience with collaborative programming
An interest in quantum computing
Strong problem-solving skills
Experience with software engineering tools: CI/CD, containers, version control, static and dynamic code analysis
Confidence in basics of linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and probabilities
MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
Experience of GPU programming
