Senior Software Engineer (Events Analytics Platform)

Join Sentry as a Senior Software Engineer on the Events Analytics Platform (EAP) team. You will lead efforts to enhance data visibility, expand search infrastructure capabilities, and improve the performance and integrity of Sentry's core data service. This role involves architectural decision-making, code quality initiatives, and collaboration with Product and other Engineering teams. • Lead efforts to enhance data visibility at Sentry by expanding the capabilities of the search infrastructure and building new capabilities on top of the storage layer.
• Architect and automate services and systems to scale reliably under growing demand, making architectural trade-offs that balance product requirements with engineering constraints.
• Maintain and grow the team's code quality initiatives by regularly reviewing code, contributing to design decisions, and leading design discussions.
• Streaming Platforms: Kafka, RabbitMQ
• You have experience with some or all of the following systems we leverage:
• Memory-driven Storage Systems: Memcached, Redis
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering
• In the Toronto area or willing to relocate
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
• Disk-driven Storage Systems: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse
• Proficiency in Python or a comparable language
• Strong knowledge of replicated and/or distributed data storage systems
