Hardware Test Internship (Fall 2026)

About The Role
Join Figure, an AI robotics company focused on developing autonomous humanoid robots. As a Hardware Reliability Intern, you will play a key role in the development and testing of our humanoid hardware systems, ensuring they meet reliability targets. This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges in a fast-paced environment. You will design and build custom test stations, develop mechanical and electrical systems, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Contribuer au développement et aux tests des systèmes matériels humanoïdes, en veillant à ce que nos produits atteignent les objectifs de fiabilité.
- Concevoir et construire des stations de test personnalisées et évolutives pour effectuer des tests fonctionnels, de performance et de fiabilité.
- Collaborer avec des équipes d'ingénierie interfonctionnelles sur des tests pratiques, l'analyse des données et les améliorations de conception itératives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Familiarity version control (Git) and programming (e.g., Python, C++, C, MATLAB)
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or a related engineering field, with at least two years completed by the start of the internship
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, and testing mechanical or electromechanical prototypes
- A genuine passion for robotics and hardware development
- Strong hands-on hardware aptitude and a proven ability to take hardware projects from concept to reality
- Portfolio or website showcasing relevant projects and your role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical and electrical design. (CATIA V6 experience)
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping (3D printing, circuit design)
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and first article inspection
- Familiarity with test station qualification process
- Experience with sensors, motors, or electromechanical systems
- Familiarity with Linux
