Senior Solutions Architect (Airflow)

Join Astronomer as a Senior Solutions Architect, where you will be the senior technical lead for customer engagements within the Services Delivery team. You will work closely with project managers and engineers to operationalize Airflow and Astro at scale, design end-to-end platform architectures, and review delivery work for scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence. • Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and technical design sessions with engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• Design end-to-end platform architectures integrating Airflow with cloud infrastructure, compute frameworks, and data platforms.
• Build reusable tools, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices that improve delivery quality across the organization.
• Strong background in designing cloud native data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with familiarity in enterprise networking, security, and identity patterns
• Experience tuning Airflow performance, refactoring Dag code, right-sizing infrastructure, and implementing data quality checks and alerts
• Track record leading architecture discussions and driving technical decisions with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, or Redshift
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong communication and documentation skills; can translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready architectures
• Airflow expertise authoring and deploying Dags to production, monitoring execution, and troubleshooting failures
• Proven track record of guiding customers through platform deployments, migrations, or technical transformations, managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder conflicts
• Programming experience in Python and SQL
