Principal Engineer TL/M (Software Development, PaaS)

Join our PaaS team as a Principal Engineer TL/M. In this hands-on role, you will lead a team of engineers while also contributing to technical execution. You will define designs, drive key features, and write code alongside your team. This is a Tech Lead/Manager role for someone who wants to grow as a people leader without leaving the craft behind. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of key features, evaluate engineering tradeoffs, and lead, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers.

• Lead a team of engineers while contributing to technical execution, defining designs, driving key features, and writing code.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of key features of the PaaS product, breaking down large projects into executable sub-projects.
• Evaluate key engineering tradeoffs and make data-driven technical decisions that balance velocity, quality, and scalability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of elegant and robust API and system designs
• Strong knowledge of Golang and building gRPC-based microservices
• Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code and hold a high bar for the team
• Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Domain experience in network routing and network security
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; comfortable working with a geographically distributed team
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on contributions to large-scale distributed systems
• Experience designing and operating a PaaS/SaaS product at scale
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems
• 3+ years in engineering leadership roles, with direct experience managing engineers and driving team outcomes
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
