Associate General Counsel VP (Content Acquisitions)

About The Role
Join Tubi, a leading streaming service, as the Vice President, Associate General Counsel-level attorney to lead our Content Acquisitions Legal team. In this role, you will provide legal advice, risk assessment, and partnership management to the Content Acquisitions and Partnerships business team. You will work cross-functionally with other Tubi business teams and partner closely with fellow Tubi Legal subject matter experts. This position reports to our Executive Vice President and General Counsel and may be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, or remotely from any US-based location.
- Lead the Content Acquisitions Legal team, providing legal advice, risk assessment, and partnership management to the Content Acquisitions and Partnerships business team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other Tubi business teams and Fox business and legal teams, ensuring alignment on legal issues and risk tolerance.
- Develop and implement process-related tasks to help the Content Acquisitions Legal team develop efficiencies and suggest areas for development across all Tubi Legal verticals.
- 15+ years’ legal experience between an established law firm and an entertainment, media, advertising and/or technology company
- Strong executive presence and an energetic team leader who coaches and supports a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, and the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal colleagues
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment
- Strong drafting skills and demonstrated ability to balance necessary legal protections with practical business needs and manage multiple, complex legal transactions simultaneously
- Admission to the state bar in at least one U.S. state
- Experience negotiating and drafting content acquisition and distribution agreements
- Understanding of digital rights management issues
- Excellent negotiator with exceptional relationship management skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and smoothly
- JD received from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
- 5+ years’ experience managing, coaching and developing a team of high-performing attorneys
