Director of Application Security

Join our team as the Director of Application Security, where you will lead company-wide application and product security initiatives. This role requires a deep technical understanding of design and product strategy, with true ownership of security outcomes. You will establish the security model for decentralized, on-device AI systems and enterprise technology, define trust boundaries and data protection strategies, and promote a culture of security embedded in system design. Additionally, you will integrate security into the software and ML lifecycle, own security across various environments, and develop a cybersecurity risk assessment and vulnerability management program.

• Establish the security model for decentralized, on-device AI systems and enterprise technology, defining trust boundaries, identity frameworks, and data protection strategies.
• Lead threat modeling for edge, distributed, and AI-driven environments, promoting a culture to ensure security is embedded into system design.
• Develop, operate, and maintain a cybersecurity risk assessment and vulnerability management program, mitigating supply chain and third-party risks and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern architectures
• Deep background in product and platform security, beyond enterprise IT security
• Deep technical literacy and ability to coach others on delivery best practices
• Highly adaptable and comfortable working with evolving processes and priorities
• Strong communication skills—able to navigate technical and non-technical discussions
• Ability to work with imperfect systems and incrementally improve them over time rather than striving for immediate perfection
• Depth with AI/ML security (e.g., model integrity, data poisoning, adversarial attacks)
• 5+ years of experience in technical cybersecurity leadership roles
• 12+ years of experience in a professional, technical cybersecurity capacity
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, edge computing, application / infrastructure security and adversarial thinking
• Any of CISSP, CSSLP, OSWE, GAIPS, etc
• Foundational secure software development experience is a big plus
